just a little update
Something I have been dreading the most has officially begun - the see you laters. Processing has been hard and confusing. In full transparency, learning how to process something before it’s even started is really hard and what does it even mean to “process” things? On the other side of this, I’m just really grateful that I have so much here that makes saying goodbye really hard.
While kind of joking about not knowing what processing means, I do think it looks different for everyone. For me, it’s been a lot of thinking through all of the details and then praying very specifically about them. From saying goodbyes, to being dropped off at the airport, to spending holidays away from my family, to the “newness” of living in Lusaka wearing off, to finding a routine and everything in between. This has brought up a lot of emotions and I’ve actually been sorting through them rather than distracting myself from them. Some times I’m better at this than others!
What I do know is that College Station is my home. I grew up here, went to college here, and it’s all I’ve ever known. But more than that, it’s where my support system is, my community. Experiencing the joy of walking through life with people who really know me is the sweetest gift ever. Going along with the current theme of trusting in Jesus, I’m going to trust that He will provide people to do life with in Lusaka. What a gift it is that we were created with the intention of doing life together! Unfortunately, that doesn’t make leaving any easier.
I officially leave September 12th. Wooo it’s getting real! This also means that I am officially less than a month away from moving. That’s crazy! Thank you for praying, for asking questions, for financially partnering with me, and for supporting me in so many different ways. My heart could burst! I am just so thankful! As of August 14, I have $1,939 left to fundraise. Please keep praying with me that God will provide this entire amount. I am absolutely blown away and cannot say thank you enough!
